English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
Follow that which has been sent down to you from your Lord, and follow no protectors other than Him. How little do you remember!

اُس کی پیروی کرو جو تمہارے ربّ کی طرف سے تمہاری طرف اُتارا گیا ہے اور اسے چھوڑ کر دوسرے ولیوں کی پیروی نہ کرو۔ تھوڑا ہے جو تم نصیحت پکڑتے ہو۔

Suivez ce que votre Seigneur a fait descendre sur vous et ne suivez pas d’autres protecteurs que Lui. Mais il est rare que vous suiviez un avertissement.

Folget dem, was zu euch herabgesandt ward von eurem Herrn, und folget keinen anderen Beschützern außer Ihm. Wie wenig seid ihr (dessen) eingedenk!

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
(ہم ان لوگوں سے کہتے ہیں کہ) جو (کلام) تمہاری طرف تمہارے رب کی طرف سے نازل کیا گیا ہے اس کی اتباع کرو۔ اور اس (خدا) کے سوا جو (تمہارے خیال میں) دوسرے کارساز ہیں ان کی اتباع نہ کرو۔ لیکن تم بالکل[2] نصیحت حاصل نہیں کرتے۔
قَلِیْـلًا کے لفظی معنے تو تھوڑے کے ہیں۔ مگر محاورہ میں اس کے معنے بالکل نہ ہونے کے ہوتے ہیں۔

Ecoutez, c’est uniquement à Allāh qu’est due l’obéissance sincère. Et ceux qui en prennent d’autres en dehors de Lui pour protecteurs disent : « Nous les servons seulement pour qu’ils nous rapprochent d’Allāh. » Assurément, Allāh jugera entre eux à propos de ce sur quoi ils étaient en désaccord. Assurément, Allāh ne guide pas celui qui est un menteur ingrat.

Fürwahr, Allah (allein) gebührt lauterer Gehorsam. Und diejenigen, die sich andere zu Beschützern nehmen statt Ihn (sprechen): "Wir dienen ihnen nur, damit sie uns Allah nahebringen." Remember, it is to Allah alone that sincere obedience is due. And those who take as protectors others beside Him, say, ‘We serve them only that they may bring us near to Allah in station.’[2562] Surely, [d]Allah will judge between them concerning that wherein they differ. Surely, Allah guides not him who is an ungrateful liar.

Man is prone to worship false gods, the idols of his own imagination, such as saints and holy men; wealth, power and passion; inherited beliefs and customs, etc. always pretending to believe that these can help him to understand and realize the Divine Being.

Unquestionably, for Allah is the pure religion. And those who take protectors besides Him [say], "We only worship them that they may bring us nearer to Allah in position." Indeed, Allah will judge between them concerning that over which they differ. Indeed, Allah does not guide he who is a liar and [confirmed] disbeliever.

Belongs not sincere religion to God? And those who take protectors, apart from Him -- 'We only serve them that they may bring us nigh in nearness to God' -- surely God shall judge between them touching that whereon they are at variance. Surely God guides not him who is a liar, unthankful.

Lo, religion is exclusively devoted to Allah. Your religion is entirely consecrated to Him. Commentary:
The particle علی (over) being generally used in the sense of "against," the meaning of the expression الله حفیظ علیم would be that God is watching over the blasphemous beliefs of men and is keeping an account of them and will punish them if they did not repent.
